Cha Eun Woo was born with the name Lee Dong Min on March 30, 1997 in Gunpo city, Gyeonggi Province. He attended Suri Junior High School, which was continued to Suri High School.
Cha Eunwoo graduated from Hanlim Multi Art School in 2016 and is currently studying at Sungkyunkwan University, majoring in performing arts.
Cha Eun Woo started his career as an actor before debuting with ASTRO under Fantagio. The 24-year-old idol is also active as an advertisement star, presenter and variety show star. He is also a member of Gang 97, a circle of friends consisting of idols born in 1997, including Jungkook BTS.

Cha Eun Woo with ASTRO officially debuted on February 23, 2016 with the release of the mini album Spring Up featuring the main song Hide & Seek. The other five members are MJ, Jinjin, Moon Bin, Rocky and Yoon Sanha.
Cha Eun Woo scored a number of proud achievements during his career with ASTRO. The group officially got their first music show win on January 29, 2019 on SBS's The Show with the single All Night.
ASTRO has released many works since their debut six years ago. While Cha Eun Woo is now more focused on acting, the group recently debuted a unit consisting of Jinjin and Rocky. It is not yet known when ASTRO will comeback with a full lineup, including Cha Eun Woo.

Cha Eun Woo made his debut in acting with a small role in the film My Brilliant Life in 2014. Then in August 2015, Eun Woo along with other ASTRO members participated in a web drama titled To Be Continued.
In 2016, Cha Eun Woo starred in the web drama My Romantic Some Recipe. A year after debuting with ASTRO, he was cast in the KBS drama Hit the Top alongside Cha Tae Hyun and Yoon Shi Yoon. Eun Woo also starred in the web drama Sweet Revenge in the same year.
Cha Eun Woo is increasingly busy acting by starring in the web drama Top Management which was released in 2018. In the same year, he was cast in the drama adaptation of the webtoon My ID is Gangnam Beauty as Do Kyung Suk. This role successfully catapulted his name as an actor.
Then in 2019, Cha Eun Woo starred in the historical drama Rookie Historian Goo Hae Ryung alongside Shin Se Kyung. The idol who is often dubbed the "face of genius" won the Excellence Award and Best Couple with Shin Se Kyung at the 2019 MBC Drama Awards.
In December 2020, Cha Eun Woo was chosen as the lead in another popular webtoon drama adaptation, True Beauty. He plays Lee Su Ho, the "perfect man" who doesn't pay attention to others.
Cha Eun Woo is ready to return to the big screen after his debut in 2014 through a film called Decibel. He was also confirmed to be one of the main actors in the drama OCN Island with Kim Nam Gil, Lee Da Hee and Sung Joon. Playing the role of an exorcist priest, Cha Eun Woo's new drama is scheduled to air in early 2022.

Through uploading on his personal Instagram, Ivan Gunawan announced that Cha Eun Woo had been appointed as a brand ambassador for local beauty products, MS Glow. In the video that was shared, the handsome idol said in Korean, "Hello, how are you? I'm Cha Eun Woo. I'm the star of the MS Glow commercial."
The news of course made Cha Eun Woo's fans excited. However, this is not the first time the idol has had a relationship with Indonesian content. Previously he attended the Indonesian Television Awards (ITA) 2018.
