Domhnall Gleeson was born in the city of Dublin. He is the son of Mary and Brendan Gleeson. He has three brothers namely Fergus, Brian and also Ruairi. He once attended the ‘Malahide Community School, then he graduated with a “Bachelor of Arts” degree in the Media Arts company from the Dublin Institute of Technology.

After he graduated, Domhnall Gleeson began directing and also writing for both his films and the stage. In 2006, he starred in the film Studs with his father.
