Metaverse is a term coined in the dystopian novel “Snow Crash” three decades ago and is now attracting attention in Silicon Valley, Facebook's headquarters. Metaverse refers to the idea of a shared virtual world that is accessible to people using different devices.

"We designed this symbol to come to life in motion and in 3D," said Facebook. The symbol may resemble the letter M which means “Meta” but it can also be interpreted as an infinity sign symbolizing the infinite horizon of the Metaverse.
In addition, according to Facebook, the most important thing is that the symbol continues to use the blue color that was the basic color on Facebook before. It is a symbol indicating a future relationship with the origins of the company.
